Lead Channel

SEO is CMTP's primary lead channel.

When Profit Drive began working with CMTP in August 2025, organic search was not the leading traffic channel and the business was not ranking for its own category. As at 26 May 2026, organic search generates more enquiries than anything else, 24 priority keywords across three cities are on page 1, and CMTP ranks #1 for "pallet manufacturer," "pallet manufacturers," and "pallet manufacturing."

Description:

CMTP is Australia's leading manufacturer of pallets, crates, cases, and chill-proof packaging, with manufacturing centres across Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia, and Tasmania. Their buyers are procurement directors, supply chain managers, and operations executives across industrial, defence, mining, dairy, pharmaceutical, and export sectors. These buyers search Google before they call. They look up "pallet manufacturer," "pallet suppliers Melbourne," "buy pallets Sydney." When Profit Drive began the campaign in August 2025, CMTP was the industry leader but not the Google result. Competitors were capturing those searches instead.

The strategy Profit Drive built was deliberately commercial. Rather than chasing the broadest possible keyword coverage, every decision was tied to the searches most likely to generate qualified quote enquiries. The campaign started in August 2025, moved city by city from Melbourne to Sydney to Adelaide to Brisbane, and by 26 May 2026 had produced results across CMTP's entire national footprint. Organic search now generates 4,500 sessions every 90 days, more than any other traffic channel including direct and paid search. New buyers are finding CMTP through Google in greater numbers than existing customers returning directly.

Case overview

  • Commercial Intent First – Every keyword was prioritised by buyer intent, not search volume alone. The goal was not more traffic. It was more quote form submissions from the right buyers in the right markets.
  • City by City Expansion – Sydney was targeted and won, then Adelaide was added while protecting Sydney rankings, then Brisbane. As at 26 May 2026, all 24 priority keywords across all three cities are tracking on page 1.
  • Category Authority Established – CMTP had the business credentials but not the search visibility to match. Strengthened indexation, targeted content, and a tightly focused keyword strategy changed that. As at 26 May 2026, CMTP ranks #1 for "pallet manufacturer," "pallet manufacturers," and "pallet manufacturing."

When work began in August 2025, CMTP's indexed page count was 81. The keyword set had grown to approximately 188 terms but was not tightly tied to buyer intent. Organic search had not yet established itself as the leading channel. The first phase of the campaign focused on strengthening the foundations.

By 5 November 2025, indexed pages had grown from 81 to 96, nearly 700 pallet-related keywords were ranking in Google, and organic search had been identified as the leading traffic channel for the first time. By 20 April 2026, indexed pages had grown further to 129, a roughly 59% increase in CMTP's searchable footprint since August 2025. The foundation was in place. The next phase was commercial execution.

From March 2026, the strategy sharpened around a prioritised Sydney keyword set. The keyword list was deliberately narrowed to a focused group of commercial searches directly tied to quote enquiry behaviour. By 20 April 2026, all 8 priority Sydney keywords had reached page 1, including "pallets Sydney" at position 5, "buy pallets Sydney" at position 4, and "Timber pallets Sydney" at position 6.

Quote form submissions tracked alongside rankings. By 26 May 2026, CMTP had recorded 156 quote form submissions over a 90-day window, with organic search now generating 4,500 sessions as the clear leading channel. After Sydney, the campaign expanded into Adelaide. By 5 May 2026, "pallet suppliers Adelaide" had reached position 1 and "pallets for sale Adelaide" had reached position 3. Brisbane followed, with "Timber pallets Brisbane" reaching position 1 and "pallet brisbane" reaching position 2. As at 26 May 2026, all 24 priority keywords across Sydney, Adelaide, and Brisbane are on page 1.

What We Delivered

The SEO campaign for CMTP, running from August 2025 to present, covered commercial keyword research and prioritisation, content publishing and optimisation, internal linking between blogs and service pages, technical SEO monitoring, metadata and heading improvements, mobile performance, structured data validation, competitor monitoring across priority markets, and site architecture planning. Every deliverable was tied to increasing page 1 visibility for commercial searches and growing quote enquiry performance.

The next stage of the campaign focuses on building a scalable national SEO architecture with dedicated location pages, industry pages, and a stronger site structure. With priority markets ranking across Sydney, Adelaide, and Brisbane as at 26 May 2026, the model is now being extended to match CMTP's full national manufacturing footprint across five states.

  • Rankings over volume — Strategy narrowed to the commercial searches most likely to produce qualified enquiries, not the most searches.
  • City by city — Each new market added systematically, protecting what was already built before expanding. Sydney first (March to April 2026), then Adelaide (May 2026), then Brisbane (May 2026). All three now page 1.
  • Foundations that compound — From 81 indexed pages in August 2025 to 129 by April 2026. Organic search generating 4,500 sessions in 90 days and leading all traffic channels as at 26 May 2026.
